Fuel Industry To Face Questions Over Rapid Price Hikes

Prices have risen following the conflict in Iran.

Representatives from the fuel industry are meeting with the Enterprise Minister today to answer questions about their price structure.

Longford Westmeath TD Peter Burke will seek clarification from the group on how increases have kicked in so rapidly since the beginning of the conflict in Iran.

The Minister is encouraging consumers to urgently report breaches of competition/consumer law in home heating oil and fuel to the CCPC.

The CEO of Fuels for Ireland Kevin McPartlan has consistently denied there is price gouging.

The Minister for Enterprise says retail staff should not face abuse over fuel costs.
