The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage has committed €150k to this year's Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann.
The addition of €150,000 in funding for this year's Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann is welcome but still doesn't get the festival over the line.
That's what Cathaoirleach of the Fleadh Executive Committee Joe Connaire is saying after the news that the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage would be providing the money for the festival's infrastructure.
The announcement comes after the Department of Arts committed in April to providing €100,000.
Fleadh organisers say the ultimate cost will be in the region of €1.7m.
It gets underway on August sixth, and Mr. Connaire says the list of things that need paying for is extensive.
