Westmeath Councillor Hazel Smyth believes the midlands will benefit from a 110kv solar substation.
"Build once, build right" is how a midlands councillor is describing the approach to planning permission for a solar substation.
The 110kV structure would be located in the Clonadrid Slanemore area in Westmeath.
However, approval has already been granted for a 38kV station in the same area.
