A local inspector is being transferred out of the region.
An Garda Síochána has announced a new superintendent appointment in the midlands.
Patrick P. Callaghan has been transferred to Portlaoise Garda Station, to take up detective duties in the Laois/Offaly and Kildare Divisions.
His appointment has been made under the Garda Operating Model and will take effect from October 20th.
A local inspector has also received a promotion.
Ollie Baker, who's served in the Laois/Offaly District, is being made superintendent and is being transferred out of the region to Nenagh Garda Station.
