A number of beekeepers had to be called to assist with the issue.
Gardaí in Offaly were left dealing with an unusual set of criminals this afternoon.
Around 12.30, officers in Clara received a call about a number of bees covering a car outside the credit union in the town centre, preventing the owner from getting into it.

Two members of the Offaly Beekeeping Association were called in to help move around 200 bees that were left swarming around the vehicle.
It took over an hour for the bees to be fully removed from the vehicle.
