Gardai in Laois are investigating a suspected assault of a man in Abbeyleix.
The man in his twenties was found unconscious in Fr.Breen Park around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon.
He was airlifted to Beaumont Hospital with head injuries and his condition is said to be serious but stable.
No arrests have yet been made.
