That's the message from Gardaí in Tullamore ahead of the Halloween season.

They're urging people not to illegally purchase any fireworks as they are a big fear factor for people living alone, young children and animals.

Officers say the consequences of releasing fireworks can lead to house fires and severe injuries.

Anyone with information on the illegal selling of fireworks is being asked to contact Tullamore Garda Station.
