A Westmeath councillor is offering his condolences, following the recovery of the body of a man in his 20s from a Midlands Lake.
Kyle Geoghegan from the Castletown Geoghegan area had been reported missing, with an extensive search taking place at Lough Ennell.
A multi-agency operation including the Garda Water Unit, local sub aqua teams and hundreds of community volunteers was carried out up to the recovery yesterday.
A post mortem examination is due to be carried out at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore.
