Uptake at the new walk-in covid testing centre in Westmeath is good.

That's according to Liam Cunningham, the manager of Athlone Regional Sports Centre, where the pop-up facility is based.

It'll be open for the next five days for people aged over 16, who live within 5 kilometres and are asymptomatic.

Other centres have also opened today at Ballinasloe Town Hall and Naas Racecourse.
