Government To Overrule Local Authorities With Wind Farms And Solar Parks

Offaly Councillor John Leahy believes communication is needed.

Local authorities could soon be forced to allow some wind farms and solar parks in their area.

Under new rules, each region will have to host a certain quota of renewable energy projects like wind turbines.

It's part of the Government's plans to keep the country's climate obligations in sight according to the Irish Independent.
