The government is being warned it needs to step in to fund nursing homes properly.
Aontú Leader and Meath West TD Peadar Toibín says otherwise there'll be 'a vast amount of closures in the coming years.'
The latest report from HIQA shows over 50 nursing homes have shut their doors for the final time between 2018 and 2022.
It also found there's been a reduction in the number of beds in the midlands by more than 100, between 2019 and last year.
