Permission was granted subject to 20 conditions outlined by the local authority.
A new solar farm is coming to Westmeath.
The development will be based across a number of locations in the Ballysallagh area in the north of the county.
It will consist of over 780,000 square metres of ground mounted solar panels and 17 hard standing locations for electrical skid installations.
Other site works include underground power and communication cables, a new access point and biodiversity enhacement measures.
The project will have an operational lifespan of 40 years.
