Green Party Suggests Piloting A New Public Bank In The Midlands

Offaly's Senator Pippa Hackett says private banking is clearly not serving us well.

The Green Party is suggesting a new Irish public bank could be piloted in the midlands.

Minister of State Pippa Hackett says, with KBC and Ulster Bank set to exit the Irish market, private banking is clearly not serving us well anymore.

The Offaly senator says it has long been Green Party policy, in order to keep money within in the community, and has already been successfully rolled out in 21 EU countries:
