"I Wasn't Really Listened To" - Westmeath Man On Disability Committee Meeting

David Digan spoke to the committee yesterday on the challenges he faces.

A Westmeath man feels he wasn't really listened to as he spoke in Leinster House about living with a disability.

Moate's David Digan has been trying to qualify for a Primary Medical Cert to allow him to avail of vehicle registration tax and VAT relief.

He lost his left arm in a motorcycle accident, however the current criteria requires the loss of both hands or both arms.

He told the Oireachtas Committee on Disability yesterday he is left with the choice of paying for road tax and or for food.

Mr Digan says he remains hopeful, but he has hoped before:
