IFA Welcome Plan To Dredge Parts Of River Shannon In Offaly

Plans have been approved by the local authority in Offaly.

The Irish Farmers Association says plans for dredging parts of the River Shannon in Offaly can be a blueprint for flood prevention in the future.

Plans have been approved by the local authority in Offaly to carry out the works at Victoria Lock in Clonahenoge subject to eight conditions.

710 cubic meters of silt and peat is set to be removed to enable navigation for leisure boats.
