Increase In Those On Pandemic Unemployment Payment Steadying

It had been continuing to rise significantly in recent weeks.

The increase in the number of people receiving the pandemic unemployment payment in the midlands is beginning to steady.

It's risen by just 57 this week, compared to a jump of 409 in the previous seven days. 

In total 15,594 will get the support this week across the region, with Westmeath still the most affected county.

It has 6,588 people on the payment, there's 4,364 in Offaly and 4,642 in Laois.
