International Protection Applicants Should Be "Safe, Secure, And Warm" In Ireland

Fianna Fáil acknowledge they will no be able to end Direct Provision before the next general election.

The coalition is being urged to ensure international protection applications will be dealt with in a timely fashion.

The Government committed to ending Direct Provision during the lifetime of the current coalition, something Longford Westmeath Fianna Fáil TD Robert Troy admits is no longer possible.

He claims that's because the promise was made before the start of the war in Ukraine.

However, Deputy Troy says international protection applicants should be able to live a full, integrated life in Ireland:
