Gardaí have arrested an intoxicated driver in Laois.
The man in his 20s failed to stop for a checkpoint in the Cappalug area, near Ballickmoyler, at about 7 o'clock yesterday evening.
He was also found in possession of a small quantity of cocaine.
The motorist was taken to Portlaoise Garda Station and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
He has since been charged with dangerous driving to appear in court.
