It means the derogation will now run until 2028 at the least.
Ireland has secured the continued availability of the Nitrates Derogation.
The Nitrates Committee of the European Commission are voting in favour to keep it in place until the end of 2028.
New conditions attached include showing compliance with the EU Habitats Directive.
