Irish Rail Services Reduced After Westmeath Graffiti Incident

Three train carriages were defaced in Athlone last Friday.

Irish Rail say a number of services will operate at reduced capacity this week due to a vandalism issue.

Three train carriages at Athlone station were defaced with graffiti late on Friday night.

The carriages were taken out of service so they could be cleaned and repaired.

A number of services have been impacted as a result and more reduced capacity services will operate tomorrow.

Irish Rail say the majority of these are off peak and they hope to return to full capacity by Friday.
