The future of campaigning lies in digital, rather than in posters, according to an Offaly Tidy Towns committee.
Current regulations state election posters can only be erected after the polling date has been fixed for a maximum of 30 days before such date - and must be taken down within a week of said date.
Many other towns have introduced their own rulings, such as designated areas for posters or not allowing them within a certain radius.
Chairman of Tullamore Tidy Towns, Shane Murray says while these posters can be beneficial for information, the amount of them put up should be questioned:
