An Iranian national is recovering after suffering a heart attack in Portlaoise Prison.
Daniel Kinahan has made a "life-saving intervention" in Portlaoise Prison according to the Irish Independent.
The alleged cartel boss performed CPR on another inmate who suffered a heart attack in the maximum security gym last week.
Ali Mazidi fell to the ground clutching his chest and is believed to have 'died' for a period of five minutes before the work of Mr Kinahan and a number of prison staff managed to restart his heart.
Mr Mazidi was then taken from the Laois prison to hospital for further treatment.
The Iranian national, who has an address in the Netherlands, was arrested as part of an investigation into a suspected drug trafficking ring.
He is currently awaiting his trial while in custody.
