A Longford Westmeath TD is calling on the government to step up.
The opposition says the government's lack of action in the housing crisis is forcing young teachers to move abroad.
A recent Teachers’ Union of Ireland poll found half of younger teachers say they would consider leaving Ireland to teach abroad due to factors such as the accommodation crisis and disillusionment with their jobs.
The findings come as all three teaching unions’ annual conferences were held last week, where issues such as staff shortages and cost-of-living crisis dominated.
Sinn Féin's education spokesperson, Longford Westmeath TD, Sorca Clarke, says the government needs to step up.
