Midlands Community Rallying Around Boy With Severe Disability

The eight year old has the developmental level of a baby.

A Laois community is rallying behind a sick boy in need of vital treatment.

Eight year old Jamie Mannion from Portlaoise has a severe intellectual disability and global developmental delay with the developmental level of a 10-12 month old baby.

So far, 22,000 euro of a 50,000 target for treatment in the US has been raised.

This week, seven women are covering 100 kilometres each, to try to add to that.

Jamie's mum Siobhán says they were due to travel to Florida for initial treatment in April, but the pandemic put a stop to that:
