Laois Council Seeks New Housing Partner For Domestic Abuse Refuge

An application was turned down in November due to funding.

A new housing body is being sought by the local authority in Laois to back a planned domestic abuse refuge for the county.

Laois Domestic Abuse Service had chosen Sophia Housing to be the approved housing body to back the project in order to avail of Capital Assistance Scheme funding.

The Department of Housing denied the application in November due to Sophia being unable to meet funding criteria.
