The local authority is making the call ahead of an expiry of EU Just Transition funding in March.
Laois County Council is pressuring the Education Minister to review and continue EU Just Transition funding past 2026 for STEM in schools.
The current round is set to expire next March, which provides the means to hire people, materials and equipment under the Midlands Regional Enterprise plan.
An end to funds would mean a stop to the programmes that are running at the moment in schools.
