He forced his passenger out of the car and onto the side of motorway.

A man is appearing in court this morning after he was caught travelling at 169kmph on the M7 in Laois.

When the Roads Policing Unit stopped car, the man jumped into passenger seat and forced his passenger out onto the side of motorway.

The Garda Mobility App showed the man was disqualified from driving.

He was arrested and brought to Portlaoise Garda Station where it was discovered that he had three live warrants for his arrest.

He was held in custody overnight.
