A cheese production facility in Laois will be closing down next year leading to the potential loss of up to 100 jobs.
Leprino Cheese says it will cease manfacturing operations in their Portlaoise plant in the second half of 2026 but will accept applications to re-deploy staff, and will offer enhanced redundancy packages and career transition assistance.
The company says the decision follows a comprehensive evaluation of all possible options to improve the financial and operational performance of the Portlaoise site.
Production will now move to to other Leprino Europe facilities in Northern Ireland and Wales.
