The HSE issued the closure order at the end of last month.
A Laois food wholesaler has been closed down for posing "a grave and immediate danger to public health".
The presence of rodent droppings, and mouse carcasses are being cited by the HSE, which has issued the closure order to Universal Food Wholesale Distribution Limited, of the National Enterprise Park, in Portlaoise.
The company was issued with the closure order on the 28th of February, which was one of seven handed out across the country, by Environmental Health Officers in the Health Service Executive.
The order pointed to three contraventions of the Food Safety Authority of Ireland Act.
They included rodent droppings and mouse carcasses being found around food stuffs, as well as food being out of date, and there being no documentation of regarding pest control.
