A Laois man is in a coma following an accident in Australia.
The Irish Sun is reporting 26-year-old Richard Nicholls from Portlaoise was critically injured in a hang-gliding incident in New South Wales on Wednesday.
His instructor, aged 67, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mr. Nicholls was airlifted to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
It's understood he's been living in Australia and his parents were visiting at the time of the incident.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade says it's aware of the case and providing consular assistance.
