A Laois man who helped stop an armed robbery is receiving the Medal of Honour today.
Dessie Brennan restrained the man after son David kicked him off a getaway bike - following an attempted robbery of a bookmakers in Dublin.
He will become the fourth Brennan to get the award - his brothers Derek and Kieran having previously received the honour.
