Laois Paramedic One Of 40,000 Licence Holders At Risk Of Being Unable To Legally Drive Post Brexit

The government has taken out ads urging holders of the licence to make the switch.

A three month delay in converting UK driving licences to Irish documents will cause thousands of unnecessary summons.

Laois paramedic Nigel Newland - who's in the process of exchanging his licence - also says the current policy leaves him relying on the goodwill of the gardaí to continue working. 

Latest figures estimate 40,000 drivers will be effected by the switch.
