Portlaoise's Scoil Chríost Rí took home the title of Sustainable Travel School of the Year.
An all-girls school in Laois is being crowned Ireland's Sustainable Travel School of the Year.
TY students in Scoil Chríost Rí in Portlaoise took both the Midlands Regional and National Title this year in a ceremony at Haughton House in Dublin.
They recieved the award for taking on the Green Schools Big Travel Challenge, which consists of focusing on one or more sustainable transport modes for two weeks in February.
Efforts for the award were run by the Green School Committee were headed by Chairperson Emma Sheerin, Megan Kavanagh and Abby Leonard.
