Midlands TD Criticising Decision To Hold election Based On Old Register

Polling Day comes 7 days before 10,000 new voters would be eligible.

Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee Laois' TD Sean Fleming is calling the government arrogant for a move which could leave up to 10,000 people unable to cast their vote.

The February 8th polling day comes 7 days before an updated register of electors comes into effect.

It'll affect affect mostly young voters looking to have their say for the first time.

The Fianna Fail General Election candidate is branding the move another example of the detachment between Fine Gael and voters.
