A local action group in Westmeath is calling on Bord na Móna to drop its plans for new windfarm.
The company plans to construct 26 turbines, up to 200 metres in height, in bogland along the Meath border.
But Raharney Ballivor Wind Information Group is concerned at the level of noise the turbines would produce with 468 homes located within two kilometres of the site.
Spokesperson Daryl Kennedy says he understands Bord na Móna needs to do something with the land, but doesn't believe a windfarm is the most suitable option:
