The location for Offaly's first-ever rainbow crossing has been chosen.
A rainbow symbol will be erected alongside an existing crossing in Edenderry, and will represent solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community.
The proposal was put forward by Councillor Mark Hackett, on behalf of the Midlands LGBT+ Project.
The move had been met with criticism within the local authority, but the Green Party rep says every public representative has a right to put forward a motion:
