At least 2 people have been arrested after a multi-agency policing operation in Laois yesterday.
Gardaí from Portlaoise, Tullamore along with customs officers and RSA officials conducted the checkpoint.
The checks took place on the M7 at Derryvorrigan, Borris-In-Ossory and yielded a major haul for Gardaí.
Two arrests were made after one driver was found in possession of cocaine to the value of 700 euro while another had a live bench warrant and was brought before Portlaoise District Court.
A further four people failed roadside drugs tests.
Officers also conducted fuel checks with seven motorists now facing fines of up to 2,000 euro for using green agri-diesel in their vehicles.
A series of fines were also issued for minor road traffic offences.
