It's hoped that it will alleviate pressure faced by staff on the ground.
The recruitment of new staff at Mullingar Hospital is continuing, to help alleviate pressure on the facility.
It's currently one of the busiest hospitals in the country, with admissions to their Emergency Department near winter levels.
The hospital's clinical director, Dr. Murat Kirca, says services have taken a big hit from Covid and the HSE cyber attack.
He's asking people to consider visiting their GP or pharmacist before attending the Emergency Department, where possible.
