A man is due to appear in court this morning in connection with the seizure of a glock pistol in Laois.
The 39 year old was arrested on Monday after gardaí stopped and searched the car he was travelling in at Clonkeen in Portlaoise.
Officers discovered the gun and nine rounds of ammunition, and detained the man at the scene.
He'll appear before Tullamore District Court at 10.30 this morning.
