A man is appearing in court this morning after robbing an elderly woman in Offaly.
The woman, aged in her 70s, was walking with a mobility aid when her handbag was stolen in Tullamore at about 10.30 yesterday morning.
Gardaí chased a man aged in his 20s on foot and, with the help of the public, he was arrested a short time later.
No injuries were reported.
The man has since been charged to appear before Portlaoise District Court at 10:30 this morning.
