Fifty-year-old Tim Dennehy, of Glanmore, Ballyhea, Charleville, Cork, was brought before a sitting of Athlone District Court to face six counts of assault.
A man has appeared in court charged with a series of "unprovoked" attacks against women in a Westmeath town.
Fifty-year-old Tim Dennehy, of Glanmore, Ballyhea, Charleville, Cork, was brought before a sitting of Athlone District Court to face six counts of assault, five of which were allegedly perpetrated on women in Athlone over the course of a matter of hours on April 2.
Mr Dennehy, who has been on remand since the beginning of April having been refused bail just over a week later.
The court heard that Mr Dennehy is alleged to have punched, kicked, and shouldered a number of women in Athlone.
