A man in his 50s is in critical condition following the incident yesterday.
A man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in the midlands.
The incident occurred on Patrick Street in Mullingar in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A man in his 50s was taken to hospital following the assault, and it’s understood his condition is critical.
Gardai arrested another man in his 50s in relation to the incident yesterday afternoon, and he’s currently being detained at a Garda station in the midlands.
They’re also appealing for witnesses, particularly those who may have camera footage, to come forward, and anyone with information is being asked to contact Mullingar Garda Station.
