It follows a number of thefts from vehicles in the past number of weeks.
A man has been arrested following the discovery of a large number of stolen items at a house in Mullingar.
The items - which were taken from unlocked vehicles over the past number of weeks - were found during a search by gardaí on Wednesday.
The man in his late 30s has been charged with the thefts and appeared before a special sitting of Mullingar District Court.
He was released on bail and will appear in court again in the coming weeks.
