A man charged with the assault of an elderly woman in an Athlone nursing home is due back in court today.
54-year-old Peter Keaney, of 7 Hillside Close, Monksland, Athlone, Roscommon, last appeared before a sitting of Athlone District Court earlier this month.
Mr. Keaney is charged with section 3 assault causing harm to a woman in her 80s after allegedly entering Sonas Nursing Home on the Ballymahon Road on Monday night, April 29th.
He's due to reappear before the courts later today.
