A man in his 20s is being treated for none-life threatening injuries in University Hospital Galway.
A man in his 20s has been injured in a shooting in the Midlands.
It happened at a home in the Dunlo area of Ballinasloe at about 3.15am this morning.
The man was taken to University Hospital Galway with non-life-threatening injuries, and the scene in Eiscir Riada has been sealed off for a forensic examination.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.
Any person who was in the vicinity of the Cúlán Eiscir Riada area on the morning of Monday 3rd August 2026 between 2:30am and 4:00am and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) is asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
