A man was attacked on the opening night of the festival in Stradbally, between 11.30 on Friday and 12.30 in the early hours of Saturday morning.
He was taken to Tullamore Regional Hospital but later transferred to St. James' Hospital, Dublin.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked contact gardaí.
