The incident took place in February.
A man in his 20s has appeared in court charged with dangerous driving causing the death of a young man on the outskirts of a midlands village earlier this year.
27 year old Patrick Hussey Hanna is facing trial over the death of a 26 year old father of one near Finea, in Westmeath on February 22nd.
Kells man, Dean Wearen lost his life when a quad bike he was driving was involved in a collision with a motorcycle at around 3:30pm on the day in question.
Mr Hussey Hanna, of Crossdrum Upper, Oldcastle, Meath is accused of dangerous driving causing the death of Mr Wearen at Tullystown, Finea, in Westmeath.
The Irish Independent is reporting Garda Mervyn Henson told a sitting Mullingar District Court the accused made no reply when formally charged at Mullingar Garda Station five days earlier, with the sole count of dangerous driving causing death.
Mr Hanna's solicitor applied for a full disclosure of evidence over the course of next four weeks before a plea is entered.
A book of evidence will be served early next year, with Mr Hussey Hanna remanded on bail until a January 8th sitting of Mullingar District Court.
