Laois County Council have told a man staying in Portlaoise Hospital there is no place for him on their housing list.
John Dunne lived in Spain, however after suffering three strokes he wants to move back to Ireland, but doesn't qualify for the Laois local authoirty housing list as he is originally from South Dublin.
His sister and her husband live in Mountrath, but they have been told they are not enough of a tie to the area.
John Carpenter, his brother-in-law, says Mr Dunne has been in hospital for almost four months:
