Midlands African Groups Call For Greater Garda Engagement After Death Of Yves Sakila

The 35-year-old died in the aftermath of an incident with security guards on Henry Street.

Africa support groups in the Midlands are calling for stronger community engagement between themselves and Gardai following the death of Yves Sakila.

Groups in Laois, Offaly, Carlow, Louth and Dublin have signed an open letter to the Garda Commissioner on the issue.

The 35 year old died following a incident involving security guards on Henry Street.

The groups are also asking for a fully transparent investigation into his death and a review into the oversight of private security personnel.
