The crash occurred on a journey from Portlaoise to Robertsown.
An ambulance crash in the midlands has sparked calls for more vehicles in the service.
An ambulance was pulled from a ditch in Clogheen, between Ballybrittas and Monasterevin, on Saturday morning, while on a call from Portlaoise to Robertstown - a 50km journey.
Offaly Councillor Clare Claffey is calling for an explanation from the HSE as to why an ambulance was making a journey of that distance.
The Social Democrats rep says a change must be made, as the service is stretched too thin:
HSE ambulance today in Portlaoise I believe . The crew were not injured . Ambulances can be fixed and replaced . Every day emergency staff risk their lives to save others pic.twitter.com/lLuytDEpbv
